Students from The Assumption Catholic Primary School participate in many community events such as the ANZAC Day march, visits to aged care facilities, Bathurst Eisteddfod, parish masses, annointing masses, the Edgell Jog, the annual Diocesan Christmas art exhibition and other activities.

Each year the Bathurst Eisteddfod is held during Term 3. All students in their year group enter the speech section, and representative choirs, musicians, dance groups and drama groups enter other sections of the Eisteddfod. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to practise performing on stage and instils in them confidence and interest in public performance.

Interested students are invited to represent The Assumption Catholic Primary School in the annual Kids' Lit Quiz. The quiz, which promotes reading, is part of an international competition run as ten rounds of ten questions with every question related to books and literature.  Our teacher librarian, Mrs Maria Arrow, organises the students for the competition and believes that it is a great opportunity to represent the school and meet authors and illustrators who attend competition days.

The DaVinci Decathalon is a creative thinking and problem solving competition hosted each year by The Scotts School, Bathurst. Student teams participate in a variety of higher order thinking and collaborative solution activities.

Our Chess Club operates weekly in the School Library. Student teams participate in a number of in-school and inter-school competitions.

Each year students have opportunity to participate in Country Women's Association (CWA) verse speaking and international studies competitions and activities.
